Microsoft Office to Get a New Version Without Subscription Model in Second Half of 2021
Back in September, Microsoft, in an official blog, a post shared the news with the world. They are planning to get a new one-time payment release for the Microsoft Office products both for Windows and Mac. Microsoft plans to implement this scheme in the second half of the year 2021. However, the giant company has not shared any details yet. They only shared one line about this news stating, “Microsoft Office will also see a new perpetual release for both Windows and Mac, in the second half of 2021.”
Currently, Microsoft charges a monthly subscription for its tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, from its users. These tools are free to use online. Yet, Microsoft 365 offers a lot of additional features for its paid users.
Microsoft 365 charges a total of Rs 4,199 per year for its services and Rs 420 per month, overall, for personal use. The family subscription charges are quite different. The family plan is Rs 5,299 per year and Rs 530 per month. These prices are quite reasonable and are very suitable according to the standard features they provide. With the new release, the customers will have to pay for the software services only one time and can use the services as long as they want.
To take full advantage of Microsoft 365 features and capabilities, users need to purchase a monthly or yearly subscription. So, to ease the constant customers, Microsoft plans for a one-time payment scheme which will relieve the customers of monthly hassle. Also, the users are anxiously waiting for the second half of 2021 to enjoy the new services. But, Microsoft has not yet, release the exact dates and prices of the new scheme. If perpetual is costly, people will not adapt to the trend.
