Having a space online where you could post important information about your medical practice is crucial. It’s not all about just making an account online. You have to make sure that it is filled with important information for it to be actually useful for interested and existing patients.

Determine what is unique about your practice and use that to market yourself and set yourself aside from all your competitors. Assess your competitors but before you do that, determine who your competitors are. Are there any other clinics or professionals that offer the same service as yours? or has the same specialization as yours? You have to know what you are up against. With that said, you should also know what they are doing to promote their practice. What are they doing that you’re not doing? Are their strategies working? How can you do their strategies better? It is all about being above your competition. It is easier for people to choose you when you stand out.

2. Build Your Online Community

Establishing your online presence has been mentioned but you don’t just make pages for you to leave it there. It has to be constantly updated. You want your content to constantly appear on people’s timelines. Having social media accounts also allows interested patients to contact you. Engage with those people. The more inquiries you answer the more people will know about you and the more they would want to choose you. Also, being engaging allows you to create loyal patients. This happens because engagement can help build trust.

3. Develop a Strategy Calendar

It is important to determine when and where you should put out your advertising or marketing materials. Doing this can help you achieve your desired results. So how do you plan? Before planning, think of the goal that you would want to achieve. For example, do you want to promote a specific promo,  would you want to increase patient growth, and so on. Once you have determined your goal it is time to create your strategy calendar. You have to select the appropriate social media platforms for your material and content so that you could strategically target the people you want to reach out to. Next, you have to determine what your efforts should be. Plot all this information through a 12 month timetable or at least 6 months.

4. Creating Content for Your Online Presence

People don’t normally trust dormant social media accounts as it gives them the feeling that the practice or business is no longer operational. So you have to keep it active and alive. Do this by creating materials such as posting articles, videos, infographics, photos, and so on. 

5. Make Sure That Your Content is Informative

It has to be relevant in your field and to interested and existing patients. They will not pay attention to your materials and efforts if it does not relate to them. According to research it only takes humans a few seconds before they decide that something is worth their time. So make sure that from the heading or title alone you have caught their attention.

6. Do Advertisements

There are a lot of spaces online that you could use to get the word out. Now that you have all your social media accounts and your website. You can have an ad. Your ad will redirect interested people to your social media accounts or your website. Facebook and Google are the top platforms to advertise on.

7. Monitor and Engage

Now that you have content and materials up and running you have to constantly monitor them so that you could assess whether it works or that. Through that data, you could improve for the better. If people are responding, use this as an opportunity to engage with them.

8.Hire the right people

Marketing your practice is not a one-person job. Your professional job is hard work on its own and doing all this can add to your workload. So, if you hire properly qualified and, for example, ACLS certified professionals to do the medical part of the job, why not search for employees that are educated and experienced in i.e. marketing, to do their part?
